MC4 CYCLING TO ZA PECÍ INN

A ride through the beautiful Czech countryside awaits you. Around the village of Květuš in particular, you’ll take in a lot. Nadějkov and Veletín on Route 4 are well-known centres of culture. There are often small theatre or music festivals which are held in the Veletín sheepfolds.

From M2 by chairlift… past Alenina Lhota straight on through Chlum down to Jistebnice. Jistebnice is well-known for cyclists, the Jistebnický kancionál (Jistebnice Hymnal) and its tower. The last pillorage in Bohemia took place here last century. The pillory is here year-round on the square. Nadějkov is known for its Fikar theatre group which puts on plays in Prague’s Činoherní klub. There is a Classicist castle (1781) and Baroque church here, closed to the public. From Nadějkov, its up to the village of Květuš, which used to be owned by King George of Poděbrady. From Nosetín, your legs can take a rest. After taking a break at the destination, Za pecí in Veletín, we head for Krošíček and from here to Javorová skála.

The destination is Veletín and the inn, Za pací, where you can also sit outside – there is a barbecue here at weekends, and cold foods during the week. You’ll be served by innkeeper and painter, Míra Pejša. His oil paintings decorate the inn walls. Children can sit on the stove. If you’re lucky, you might catch some live music here.
